West Hills wraps up non-conference schedule with win over Canyons

LEMOORE – Camron Wilson posted his seventh consecutive double-double with 28 points and 12 rebounds to help lead West Hills College Lemoore to a 90-86 victory over visiting College of the Canyons on Wednesday night at Golden Eagle Arena.

The Golden Eagles were able to hold off a second-hall Canyons (7-4) rally and improved to 6-5 overall. West Hills is averaging 83.3 points per game, ranking 11th in the state.

Wilson shot 8 of 13 from the field and was 10 for 13 from the free throw line. His 28 points was his second highest scoring game of the season. He now has compiled eight double-doubles in 11 games this season.

West Hills got key contributions to the win from Milton Burnett, Mack Tarver Jr., and DyAndre Morehead.

Burnett totaled 22 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds. Tarver nailed 4 three-pointers on his way to 21 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds. And Morehead put up his first double-double of the season with 19 points and 12 rebounds.

West Hills will take a break for the holidays and returns to action on Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. when the Golden Eagles open Central Valley Conference play at home against Reedley College.
