Committed father, family man, and Coach. Jovan Joe’s focus is aimed toward helping our under-served youth /student-athletes by giving them the tools to discuss and understand racial and socioeconomic issues. He hopes this will allow them to not be conquered by it, but overcome it. Joe fosters an approach that provides student-athletes with both proactive support to enhance their success, as well as a second chance to be reconnected to the essential structures that will help them reach their full potential.

Joe has been a part of the men's basketball program for three years, this being his second season as head coach. Prior to WHCL, he held the position of Assistant Head Coach for three years at Central East Campus, where they won three consecutive Valley championships in Division I (Fresno, CA.). Joe also served as the Assistant Head Coach for two seasons at Kerman High School (Fresno, CA.), as well as the Head Freshman Coach at Mission Oak High School (Tulare, CA.).

Joe's basketball career consisted of him being a part of the Fresno City Men’s basketball program for two seasons in 1997-1999. After his time at FCC, Joe transferred to finish off his collegiate career at the College of Notre Dame in 1999-2002.
