Golden Eagles edge Moorpark 1-0 for first win, fall 2-1 at Canyons
LEMOORE – The Lemoore College men's soccer team is in the win column thanks to a 1-0 non-conference victory over visiting Moorpark College on Tuesday.
After a scoreless first half, the Golden Eagles got the game-winning goal from freshman forward Diego Rivera.
The Lemoore defense was solid, earning its first shutout of the season as well.
Unfortunately, the Golden Eagles couldn't keep the momentum going and suffered a tough 2-1 loss at College of the Canyons on Friday.
Juan Pablo Lopez scored off the assist from Sagar Kumar in the 30th minute to give Lemoore the 1-0 lead.
But it didn't last as Canyons scored twice over the final five minutes of the opening half to go out in front 2-1 and the Cougars held on for the win.
Lemoore is now 1-4 overall. The Golden Eagles are back in action on Tuesday (Sep. 10) when they travel to Victor Valley College for a 6 p.m. non-conference game.
