Lemoore Basketball’s Amaya Sanchez signs with La Sierra University
Lemoore College women's basketball standout Amaya Sanchez has signed a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at La Sierra University in Riverside. She made it official at a ceremony on campus as part of a "Celebrating the Wins" event on Wednesday.
The 5-7 guard originally out of Lemoore High School closed out her Golden Eagles career with an impressive sophomore season this past winter.
Sanchez earned first-team All-Central Valley Conference honors after leading the CVC in scoring at 18.9 points per game. She also closed the season ranked fourth in the conference with 8.9 rebounds.
Sanchez heads to the Inland Empire to compete for NAIA-level La Sierra and head coach Kevin Mitchell.
