Lemoore evens conference record with win over Porterville
LEMOORE – Four Golden Eagles scored in double figures, led by 24 points from Yuliza Padilla, to help lead Lemoore College to a 71-63 Central Valley Conference win over visiting Porterville College on Saturday at Golden Eagle Arena.
The Golden Eagles trailed 37-29 at halftime before rallying over the final two quarters for the victory.
Padilla put together another big game with 24 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists. Shelby Marquez chipped in with 14 points and 7 boards. Briannah Lorta totaled 13 points and 6 rebounds while Bethany Oliva contributed 12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.
Earlier in the week, the Golden Eagles opened their Central Valley Conference schedule with a 94-71 loss against Reedley College at home on Wednesday. Padilla scored 18 points to lead Lemoore while Chantel Rodriguez totaled 14 points and 7 rebounds.
Lemoore moved to 6-11 overall and 1-1 in the Central Valley Conference after the week's action. The Golden Eagles return to the court on Wednesday (Jan. 15) when they travel to College of the Sequoias in Visalia for a 5 p.m. CVC game.
