Golden Eagles wrestlers receive state championship rings
The Lemoore College wrestling program honored its four state championship wrestlers with a ring ceremony as part of a "Celebrating the Wins" mini event on campus on Wednesday.
Golden Eagles head coach Marcio Botelho recognized the impressive achievements of former Lemoore wrestlers Eric Orozco, Angel Solis, Lupe Ayon, and Wayne Joint.
Orozco captured the program's first ever state title in 2011 at the 133-pound division. Ten years later, Solis (197), Ayon (149), and Joint (141) all captured state championships in their home gym at the 2021 tournament hosted by the former West Hills College Lemoore.
Joint became Lemoore's first two-time winner by closing out his two-year career with another state championship at the 141-pound division in 2022.
