Rams push winning streak to six; ranked 15th in latest state poll

GILROY – The Gavilan College men's soccer team surged to its sixth straight win, a 3-0 shutout victory over visiting West Hills College Lemoore on Tuesday.

Freshman Tony Moran knocked in a pair of first-half goals in the contest, giving him a team-leading seven for the season. Akzel Alfaro also scored for the Rams in the 43rd minute.

With a 6-1 overall record, Gavilan made its first appearance of the season in the California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA) Men's Soccer State Rankings. The Rams are currently tied for the No. 15 spot with College of the Desert in this week's poll.

Oxnard (4-0-1), Fullerton (6-1-0), and El Camino (6-1-0) comprise the state's top three. (Complete poll below)

The Rams will look to push that winning streak to seven when they travel to College of Marin on Thursday (Sep. 21) for a 2 p.m. non-conference game.
