Golden Eagles close non-conference schedule with loss at Canyons

SANTA CLARITA – Isaiah Jones scored a game-high 21 points while Keasean Bazlie added 18 points to lead West Hills College Lemoore in an 89-72 loss at College of the Canyons on Tuesday night.

West Hills was up early in the contest, jumping out to a 20-10 lead before Canyons rallied back to go out in front 39-32 at halftime. COC outscored the Golden Eagles 50-40 over the final 20 minutes to close out the contest.

Jones nearly posted a double-double, adding 9 rebounds to his season-best 21 points. Jose Martinez chipped in with 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists while DaMari Tate posted 8 points and 4 boards.

West Hills closed out the calendar year and its non-conference schedule with a 7-7 overall record. The Golden Eagles will take an extended break for the holidays and return to action on Jan. 4 to play at Porterville College in both teams' Central Valley Conference opener.
