Golden Eagles ranked No. 20 in State Preseason Poll

Big things are expected this season from the West Hills College Lemoore men's basketball team.

The Golden Eagles made an impression on opponent coaches during the non-traditional season as the WHCL was ranked No. 20 in the California Community College Men's Basketball Coaches Association (CCCMBCA) Preseason State Poll. | CCCMBCA RANKINGS

The Golden Eagles also hold the No. 9 spot in the Northern California Preseason Top 25.

Jovan Joe returns for his third season as head coach of West Hills Lemoore after leading his squad to its first-ever Northern California Regional Playoffs appearance. The Golden Eagles closed the season with a 13-16 overall record and 6-8 mark in Central Valley Conference play last season.

With higher expectations, West Hills officially opens the 2023-24 season on Nov. 2 when the Golden Eagles host Cuesta College at 6 p.m. WHCL is set to host 13 games at Golden Eagle Arena this season.

Central Valley Conference play gets underway on Jan. 10 at home against Porterville. On Feb. 14, the Golden Eagles host in-district rival West Hills Coalinga.
