West Hills surges to third straight win, beat Monterey Peninsula 2-1

The West Hills College Lemoore men's soccer team extended its winning streak to three games thanks to a 2-1 victory at Monterey Peninsula College on Friday. The Golden Eagles improved to 4-1 overall on the season.

West Hills had to come from behind after trailing early. MPC got a goal from Yossimar Tapia in the fifth minute to jump ahead 1-0.

But Fidel Arrellano scored the equalizer for the Golden Eagles in the 40th minute off the assist from Pedro Silva to send the teams into halftime tied 1-1. West Hills got the game-winning goal from Edgar Lopez in the 79th minute and the defense was able to hold on for the victory.

Sergio Sierra totaled four saves in goal for the Golden Eagles.

West Hills looks to extend its winning streak on Tuesday (Sep. 14) when it hosts Victor Valley College in a 2 p.m. non-conference game.
