Golden Eagles rally late for 2-1 win over Feather River

Fidel Arrellano's goal in the 80th minute proved to be the game-winner for West Hills College Lemoore in a narrow 2-1 victory over visiting Feather River College on Wednesday.

The Golden Eagles bounced back from last week's 4-1 loss at Compton and improved to 2-1 overall with today's win.

Vicente Rojas gave West Hills a 1-0 lead in the first half, taking the pass from Angel Flores to score in the 30th minute. But Feather River got the equalizer with a goal in the 37th minute by Devonte Richards to send the game into halftime all tied up.

The two squads battled in the second before Edgar Lopez fed Arrellano for the go-ahead score. Sergio Sierra made three saves and the Golden Eagles defense was able to hang on for the win.

West Hills returns to action on Friday (Sep. 10) when the Golden Eagles travel to Monterey Peninsula College for a 4 p.m. non-conference game.
