Slow start hurts Golden Eagles in season-ending loss at COS

The West Hills College Lemoore women's basketball team wrapped up its 2019-20 season on Friday with a tough 63-41 Central Valley Conference loss at College of the Sequoias.

The Golden Eagles compiled a 9-19 overall record and finished in fifth place in the final CVC standings with a 5-7 conference mark.

COS got off to a fast start, jumping out to a quick 7-2 lead that the Giants wouldn't give up. West Hills was down 23-11 at the end of the first quarter and trailed 33-18 at halftime.

Luzelena Parks had a huge game to close out her freshman season. She posted a double-double with a game-high 24 points and 10 rebounds. Playing in her final game in a Golden Eagles uniform, Alejandra Fernandez led all with 12 rebounds top go with 7 points.
