A goal in the 90th minute by Modesto Junior College changed a likely tie into a 1-0 loss for the West Hills College Lemoore women's soccer team on Tuesday. The setback was the first of the season for the Golden Eagles and dropped their record to 2-1-1 overall.
Both teams battled for nearly 90 minutes but Modesto's Lizzie Watson broke up the shutout with her goal just moments before the final whistle.
Arleny Garcia played well in goal for Golden Eagles as she posted eight saves in the narrow defeat.
The Golden Eagles will look to bounce back next Tuesday (Sep. 21) when they host Cuesta College in a 2 p.m. non-conference game.
