Golden Eagles drop first conference match, fall 3-1 to Porterville

West Hills College Lemoore sophomore Claire Broomfield totaled nine kills, 13 digs, and three aces in a 3-1 Central Valley Conference loss to visiting Porterville College on Friday.

The Golden Eagles took the opening set but the Pirates rallied to win the next three and take the match. West Hills dropped to 2-5 and 1-1 in the CVC while Porterville improved to 4-5 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

WHCL's Jordan Turner contributed seven kills while setters Kimberly Beltran and Makayla Alapisco Zamora both had 14 assists. Monica Macias added nine digs and a pair of aces and Emma Revious chipped in with six kills and three aces.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday (Sep. 22) when they travel to Columbia College for a 5 p.m. Central Valley Conference match.
