Golden Eagles win second straight, sweep Reedley 3-0

LEMOORE – The West Hills College Lemoore women's volleyball team is on a two-match winning streak after snapping a season0-long seven match skid. The Golden Eagles swept visiting Reedley College 3-0 on Wednesday. Five days earlier, West Hills needed five sets to win at Las Positas College in Livermore by a final score of 3-2.

The Golden Eagles dominated Reedley, allowing the Tigers just three total kills in the match. WHCL took the match by scores of 25-16, 25-20, 25-18.

West Hills spread the love on offense. Sariah Serrano led the Golden Eagles with 6 kills while Kaitlyn Mckee and Emma Revious had 4 kills each. Klarissa Solorio had match-highs with 23 digs and 6 aces while Alexandria Tweed totaled 11 assists.

The Golden Eagles were resilient in their win at Las Positas on Friday. Trailing 2-1, West Hills won the final two sets to escape with the 25-9, 24-26, 14-25, 25-19, 15-9 victory.

Leah Mosqueda paced the offense on this night with 12 kills. Revious and Serrano both posted 9 kills and Mckee added 8 kills.

Solorio had another big match on defense with 33 digs. Tweed totaled 12 assists and 12 digs, while Haleigh Fagundes chipped in with 15 digs.

West Hills improved to 3-7 overall and evened up its Central Valley Conference record at 1-1. The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday (Sep. 21) when they play at College of the Sequoias.
